Xi Jinping approved as China's most influential leader since Mao Zedong

The Chinese Communist Party has made it official that Xi Jinping is the most influential ruler since Mao Zedong, the founder of People’s Republic of China.

A unanimous voting has approved to inscribe Xi Jinping’s ideology into the party’s constitution.

Over 2,300 delegates voted behind closed doors on Tuesday during a party congress that opens Xi Jinping’s second five-year term as leader of the party.

A section subheaded “Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era” will now be included in the document.

Although other party leaders have had their doctrines enshrined in the constitution, only Mao Zedong has had a “thought” section dedicated to him.
This makes Xi Jinping the second ruler to be honoured with his own section in the constitution.

The decision comes after a Xi Jinping’s three-hour speech that marked the congress’ opening. The Chinese leader made multiple references to “Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,” adding that the nation should “take center stage” and offer new choices for the world with its socialism.
