  • 7 лет назад
Join us for a Thai street food tour in Bangkok as we visit Chatuchak Weekend Market (ตลาดจตุจักร) which is the biggest market in of of Thailand and a great place to sample cheap Thai food.\r
\r
Also known as Jatujak or JJ Market (จตุจักร) youll find over 15,000 booths spread out over 27 acres of space. To cover the entire market would be a daunting task but just randomly wandering around and sampling cheap Thai eats is what we most recommend. For some reason we especially had a sweet tooth so youll notice we sampled a lot of Thai desserts. Open on Saturday and Sunday it can attrion over 200,000+ visitors per day so be prepared to bump elbows with others. Also, wed recommend visiting earlier in the morning to avoid crowds and the midday sun.\r
\r
Here is a complete list of the Thai street food we sampled:\r
\r
1) Itim Kati - ไอติมกะทิ: Thai coconut ice cream inside a coconut \r
2) Kluay Tod - กล้วยแขก: Fried battered Thai bananas or plantains\r
3) Thai Coconut Solution Noodles (ก๋วยเตี๋ยวแก้ปัญหามะพร้าว)\r
4) Thai beer (Leo เบียร์ลีโอ)\r
5) Thai chocolate, banana and egg pancake (roti) (โรตีกล้วย)\r
6) Thai Mango Sticky Rice (Khao Neow Ma Muang - ข้าวเหนียวมะม่วง)\r

Thai Street Food Tour in Bangkok, Thailand at Chatuchak Market (จตุจักร) Video Transcript:\r
\r
So it is a Sunday here in Bangkok (กรุงเทพมหานคร) and today were visiting one of the most popular markets in all of Bangkok. Were going to Chatuchak (จตุจักร). Yeah. Woo hoo. \r
\r
It is a massive market. It is open only on the weekends and were going to get to eat a lot of Thai street food today. So come join us. That is the plan.\r
\r
We are now officially entering the market and it is packed. Were here around noon and it is just full of people. And this is just the entrance. Ah!\r
\r
So one of the recommendations I read online for this market is to visit early in the morning before it gets really busy. Um, and we were like no we should wait until it is crowded that way well have ambience and we can show you what it is really like. But the problem now is that it is super hot. It is probably like 12 noon and it is jammed packed. There is almost nowhere to walk and it is a little bit overwhelming but I guess that is to be expected from Thailands biggest market. So here we are looking for food.\r
\r
Oh man. It is so good. This is one of those Thai desserts that no matter how much Ive eaten for the day I could like be totally stuffed and Im still got a bit of room for this. There is always room for sticky rice. It is just that good. It is just that good. Love that stuff. And if youre coming here I mean at 50 Baht it is really cheap and I highly recommend trying this. You can have it on the street, you can have it in restaurants. You can have it just about anywhere. This is a classic Thai dessert.\r
\r
Alright guys so we just finished visiting Chatuchak Market (จตุจักร) and now were relaxing and resting a bit at Chatuchak Park (สวนจตุจักร) which is like right down the street basically.\r
\r
This is basically an oasis. It is an oasis after the market. Oh my gosh.\r
\r
The market is overwhelming. Just to give you a little bit of perspective the market has over 8000 stalls. It has 27 different sections and apparently it takes up something like 35 acres of space.\r
\r
So it is huge. And we couldnt find any maps that kind of like plotted out this is the food area, this is like the fashion. So we were wandering around aimlessly for a long time. And we finally just started purchasing random snacks along the way.\r
\r
So I dont even know if we made it to the proper like food court area but we found Thai street food. We ate so were full, were satisfied and now it is time to go rest.\r
