A silent Gandhian protest against Goods and Services tax on handmade products gained the Karnataka government's backing with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah writing to the GST council over the same. Theatre actor and handloom activist Prasanna's indefinite fast against levying GST on handmade products forced the Congress government in Karnataka to act.
