Reagan, Gorbachev And Third World - Rise of the Right is the eight episode of the documentary series.

Oliver Stone and his collaborators explores primarily the legacy of President Ronald Reagan.It starts with the last years of the Nixon presidency such as the near end of the Vietnam War,the bombings of third world countries like Cambodia,Watergate and Americans demanding for their rights in society;the Gerald Ford presidency in passing; and the legacy of President Jimmy Carter such as the Cold War,removal of US troops from Vietnam,the Middle East crisis particularly in Iran,the involvement of the United States in the war in Afghanistan against the Soviet Union where the animosity between the Taliban and the Americans started that would later lead to the September 11 attacks and the difficult economic situation that the United States.It concluded that Carter's inexperience and his failed foreign policies almost threatened world peace which laid the foundation of the groundwork for the presidency of Reagan.
