GoPro on track to launch Hero6, Fusion, earnings beat

Investing.com – (NASDAQ:GoPro) has announced it remains on track to launch the Hero6 and Fusion, its 5.2K spherical camera, this year.GoPro launched its QuikStories app on July 27.The app automatically pulls footage from a Hero5 camera to create videos on phones. ""We believe QuikStories is a game changer,” GoPro founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman said“It represents our biggest leap forward in ease-of-use since the invention of the GoPro, itself,"" he added.GoPro is aiming to book a full-year profit in 2017 on a non-GAAP basis.GoPro has been plagued by problems with the launch of its Karma drone and production snags for the Hero5 camera. The company Thursday reported second quarter earnings that beat estimates. It reported a loss per share of 9 cents against an estimated loss of 12 cents and a loss of 52 cents a year earlier. Revenues were up 34.3% at $296.5 million, compared with a forecast of $269.7 million.The company said it achieved a quarter-on-quarter reduction in inventory of 39% in the June quarter.GoPro shares were up over 14% in pre-market trade.
