President Trump has called for an end to the Russia investigation because, in his words, “...the American public is sick of it.”
President Trump has suggested an end to the Russia investigation because, in his words, “...the American public is sick of it.”
He made the comment during a press briefing on Monday after a reporter asked him about the probe being led by special counsel Robert Mueller.
"There has been absolutely no collusion. It’s been stated that they have no collusion," Trump said. "They ought to get to the end of it because I think the American public is sick of it.”
He also called the controversy “an excuse for the Democrats losing the election.”
His statements come days after Politico reported, based on an inside source, that Trump’s attorneys are considering offering a meeting between him and Mueller in an effort to bring about a faster conclusion to the investigation.
