New California law says pet stores must only sell rescues
  • 7 years ago
California has great news for soon-to-be pet owners! According to The New York Times, a new bill is being passed to ensure all pet store animals come from shelters or rescue agencies. Why is this a good thing? "By offering puppies, kittens, and rabbits for adoption from nearby shelters, pet stores can save the lives of animals in search of a home, save the breeding animals trapped in puppy mills, and relieve pressure on county budgets and local tax payers.” This is the first law of its kind to reach a statewide level.
