36 panda cubs born in 2017 make their first public appearance in southwest China

A total of 36 giant panda cubs born in 2017 made their first appearance to the public on Friday at the Bifengxia and Shenshuping bases of the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

So far, 42 giant panda cubs have been born within this year, the highest recorded amount of births since the breeding program began. Among them, there are 15 pairs of twins.

Seventeen panda cubs were on show to the public at Bifengxia base in the city of Ya'an. And 19 cubs made their appearance at Shenshuping base in the Wolong National Nature Reserve. The youngest of the cubs is only one month old, and the eldest is about five months old.
