Hillary Clinton has alleged that President Trump is a self-admitted “sexual assaulter.”
She made the claim during a BBC News interview after she was asked about the scandal surrounding Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. Clinton described being "shocked and appalled," when she heard about various sexual harassment allegations against Weinstein.
“It's important that we not just focus on him and whatever consequences flow from these stories about his behavior but that we recognize this kind of behavior cannot be tolerated anywhere, whether it's in entertainment, politics," she also noted. "You know, after all, we have someone admitting to being a sexual assaulter in the Oval Office.”
The reference was likely a nod to the 2005 Access Hollywood tape where Trump can be heard making inappropriate remarks about women.
And when Clinton was asked about similarities between Trump and Weinstein, she answered, “I'm not a psychologist, I can't draw that conclusion. I think that there are...credible reports from women about both that sound quite similar.”
A recent Vogue piece points out that, in addition to the Access Hollywood tape, Trump is said to have been accused by at least a dozen women of sexual impropriety.
However, Trump has denied such allegations in the past.
As for Clinton, CNN is reporting that she has agreed to donate the amount Weinstein contributed to her prior campaigns to a women’s charity.
And during the BBC interview, she downplayed a question about her own husband, Bill Clinton, having sexual misconduct claims lodged against him, saying, that those cases “had all been litigated.”
