Footage has emerged of a container ship appearing to block Durban harbour's mouth during a storm.

The fierce storm hit Durban on Tuesday (October 10), causing flash floods in parts of the South African city.

The winds were so strong that they appeared to move the heavy MSC container ships as well as tearing the roof of some of buildings.

Local media said that four tugs were attempting to pull the vessel clear‚ according to a member of the disaster management team dealing with the storm.

Filmer Marc Maurel comments in his video that the tugs are "struggling" to be put the boat back on course.
