Behind The Lines: Graham Hunter | FWTV

When it comes to Spanish football few reporters or even players can provide as much insight and analysis as Graham Hunter.

The Scot, who fell in love with football in Spain while supporting his country at the 1982 World Cup, has reported on all things La Liga for over 20 years and in 2002 moved to the country that he nows calls home.

He has since been able to forge relationships with some of Spain's, and therefore Europe's, most players. He interviewed the likes of Gerard Pique and Xavi moments after their greatest successes while has often had one-on-one chats with the genius that is Leo Messi and the brilliant Cristiano Ronaldo.

The author of the excellent books Barca: The Making Of The Greatest Team In the World and Spain: The Inside Story of La Roja's Historic Treble, Hunter met up with Football Whispers to discuss a wide range of topics.

He discussed the differences between Spanish and English football, including how young players are coached, talked about Barcelona's famed La Masia academy which honed the talents of Messi, and ponders whether Harry Kane and Dele Alli would've been even better with a Spanish schooling.

It's an interesting and insightful interview which you can watch below. And be sure to check out many of our other Behind The Lines interviews with the likes of Paul Gascoigne, Frank Lampard, Ossie Ardiles and many more.
