STREETTANGO ADVENTURES HALIFAX Nova Scotia jan.2016

Dancing tango in Halifax offered me the possibility to observe the most warm and gentle people in a society that I would describe as “polite”.

- Cars immediately stopping, even if I just looked at the road, before crossing it
- People apologising for any action that might have disturbed me
- Asking how I am doing, as a way to say hi

- Rather shy than aggressive
- Apologising/inviting rather than provoking like me :-)

- Men seemed typically masculine, women typically sexy and caring
- Both work out physically, many people jogging and looking good
- Men usually looked quite serious to me

But when I offered to gather at the library for an "illegal" milonga, some men seemed to enjoy the challenge of getting to dance in public before getting thrown out by the guards.

The guards never threw us out though.
As we used headsets they didn't even notice we were dancing at first but when they did, there was a smile growing on their faces and we danced until closing time.
