Brie Larson Voices Her Discomfort After A Male TSA Agent Asked For Her Number
  • 7 years ago
Brie Larson was in an unfortunate position where she felt uncomfortable after an encounter with a male TSA Agent at an airport.
She Tweeted, “I merely smiled at a TSA agent and he asked for my phone number. To live life as a woman is to live life on the defense.”
While some followers immediately supported Larson’s Tweet, others thought Larson was blowing the situation out of proportion. People magazine points out that one user responded, saying “OH NO! A guy asked for your number. You poor thing. Women be complaining they don’t find a good guy, but complain when dudes ask for their number.”
Larson was willing to engage in a conversation and Tweeted, “You do realize you’re blaming me for a situation I did not ask to be in? A situation that made me uncomfortable?”
To which, the user argued, “Didn’t ask to be in that situation, but people are encouraged through life to make connections, don’t be so soft skinned to be upset that he tried.”
Larson’s point is that since he was in a position of authority and working, it was inappropriate, and that everyone should be more educated about how women are put in uncomfortable experiences.
