Catalans protest against police crackdown

Footage has emerged of Catalan residents protesting outside a hotel where Spanish police forces were staying.

The video, captured on October 2 in Reus in the province of Tarragona, shows a large crowd shouting "Els carrers seran sempre nostres! (the streets will always belong to us!)" outside the hotel's entrance, which was being guarded by policemen.

Elsewhere in Catalonia, at least 500 officers in Calella, northeast of Barcelona, had to abandon their hotels under pressure from the local government after a group of uncovered officers allegedly crackdown people on the streets, local media said.
