Pentagon confirms U.S. service member's death in Iraq

The Pentagon confirmed on Monday an American service member was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq on Sunday. Another service member was injured, and the Defense Department were involved in the fight against the Islamic State. To date, 12 American service members have lost their lives in Iraq and Syria. But the Defense Department noted the Iraqi Security Forces have just about succeeded in reclaiming the country back from the terrorist group. The identities of the service members are being withheld until their family members have been notified.
