Alex proposed to his girlfriend Kelly in VR by tricking her into thinking they would be playing a zombie-killing video game. But after a few minutes of shooting virtual zombies, the post-apocalyptic setting melted away into an environment resembling the area where Kelly grew up. The fully digitized environment included Kelly's grandmother's street in South Africa and the big tree that Kelly loved growing up.
The experience was created by VR company "Zero Latency." While they usually just focus on zombie war games, they decided to make an exception for the happy couple.
