Abhishek Singh created the Holo Messenger app to recreate the tool made famous in the "Star Wars" films. But Singh's app doesn't use alien technology — all you need is an iPhone to record a message.

Holo Messenger is an augmented reality app that adds a bluish, slightly transparent tinge to whatever the camera sees. When you record a regular video and send it, your friend receives a holographic message on their phone. You can also send holographic messages from specific films.
