Americans now believe climate change worsens hurricanes
  • 7 years ago
The recent tropical storms have given Americans a new take on climate change. A Washington Post-ABC News poll found 55 percent of the U.S. believes climate change has intensified hurricanes. Back in 2005 after Katrina, the same poll found only 39 percent did. Why are we seeing a shift? Scientists are becoming more confident in their data. How are political opinions influencing these views? Democrats views on climate change related to hurricanes hit 78 percent this month while Independents went from 42 percent during Katrina to 56 percent now. Republicans have seen the slightest shift with a current 72 percent from 70 back in 2005.
