Trump Reportedly Called Dallas Cowboys Owner Four Times Before Monday Night’s Game

President Trump reportedly called Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones four times on the day of the team’s Monday night game.

President Trump’s demand that all NFL players stand for the national anthem or be fired kicked off a string of intensified kneeling-related protests on Sunday.
Perhaps in an effort to keep that sort of response from continuing into Monday, Trump reportedly called Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones four times on game day.
"2 sources told @nbcdfw President Trump blew up Jerry’s cell Mon calling him 4 times throughout the day to talk about anthem stuff. Wow," Jean-Jacques Taylor, a journalist with NBC DFW, tweeted Wednesday.
It’s unclear exactly what they discussed, but Jones did take a knee with the entire team prior to the game, though all stood with their arms locked as the national anthem was performed, notes CNN.
That appeared to appease Trump somewhat.
“Spoke to Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys yesterday," the president wrote in a Wednesday morning tweet. "Jerry is a winner who knows how to get things done. Players will stand for Country!”
