10. Snap Dragon Seed Pod (Antirrhinum Majus)\r
\r
Creepy skull, check. Flower, also check. These Snapdragons are ually enjoyed by many gardeners. This plant provides color and pleasant odors to their garden. Squeezing the flower also makes it look like a dragons mouth that is opening and closing. It is believed that Snapdragons have powers. If you grow them in your garden, you are protected from curses and from evil entities. I say the little skulls do enough already. They look like tiny spears of African headhunters!\r

9. The Starfish Flower (Stapelia Variegata)\r
\r
The Starfish Flower is from Africa. It has a beachy-feel to it because of the starfish-looking part in the middle of the flower. But the beach resemblance ends there. It reeks of a dead animal. This smell is quite attrive though to flies. They believe the flower is rotten meat. They lay their eggs on the flower and ually end up pollinating the flower.\r

8. Lithops\r
\r
These arent stones, but they are ually flowers with awesome camouflage. The harsh climate of Namibia and South Africa has developed in the Lithops, a particular ability to keep their moisture in droughts. They also look like rocks, which mean predators are less likely to eat them.\r

7. Hydnellum Peckii\r
\r
This lovely (sort of reminiscent of the blob) bleeding plant is a type of fungus. Its special skill is releasing blood or juice onto its surface. You can find this fungus all across North America and Europe. You can also eat the liquid (not that you would want to), but it is super bitter. Like so many bizarre-looking plants, it too has a negative odor.\r
\r
6. Venus Flytrap\r
\r
A more well-known bizarre plant is that of the Venus Flytrap. It too is a carnivorous plant. The Flytrap eats insects as well as animals. Eastern Carolina is where you will find the flytraps. When an insect comes near, the Flytrap quickly closes its “mouth.” Within 10 days, it will finish digesting it. \r
The Venus Flytrap also known as Dionaea Muscipula is a carnivorous plant. It means the plant consumes small insects and animals as food. Venus Flytraps can be found in Eastern Carolina especially in wet habitats. \r

5. Happy Alien (Calceolaria Uniflora)\r
\r
Bring me to your leader. This “Happy Alien,” looks very excited to see you! It is also known as Darwins Slipper Flower. It can be found in South America in the Tierra del Fuego region. \r
\r
4. Hydnora Africana\r
\r
Another plant to add to your nightmares is that of the Hydnora Africana. It is sort of like a super creepy eyeless snake that will attack you when you sleep. And, to add to it positives, it smells like poop. Carrion beetles and dung beetles pollinate this plant. It waits for these beetles to come and during this time attaches itself to the roots of other plants. \r
\r
3. Naked Man Orchid (Orchi Italica)\r
\r
This Mediterranean plant is an orchid. But it is an orchid that looks like a man with no clothes on—and with sort of a summery hat on too. This plant is believed to help serve as a treatment for male virility as well as an aphrodisiac. As a food, this plant can be made into a flour-like substance, called salep. Salep is commonly used in desserts and drinks in Turkey.\r
\r
2. Chinese Fleeceflower \r
\r
The little man root has been used in China as medicine (e.g. kidneys, bone strength, laxative, and to restore hair). It truly naturally resembles that of a man. \r
\r
1. Hookers Lips (Psychotria Elata)\r
\r
I keep expecting these lips to start belting out tunes from The “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” Hookers Lips grow in Central and South America. The parts that look like lips are waxy in texture, and are sort of like a leaf.
