'We didn't win!" Alastair Campbell LASHES Corbynistas for smug post-election gloating
FORMER Labour spin doctor Alastair Campbell bashed Jeremy Corbyn for the overly self-confident behaviour the party has adopted since the general elections. The former Tony Blair aide slammed the Labour leadership for acting overly smug following the June general election.Speaking to RT UK, he said: "Too many people in the Labour party are behaving as though we won. We didn’t win!"There’s no doubt the Corbynistas have got the ascendancy in the party, no doubt about that at all. The party has changed but the politics that I’ve always believed in, and Tony I guess manifested in winning the three elections, I think there’s always going to be a place for that." Mr Campbell did not shy away from hitting at the party over Brexit as chaos among Labour members deepens after a motion was passed excluding Brexit from major debates at the Labour conference in Brighton. The spin doctor said: "The public actually thinks it’s a bit alarming you’ve got this Theresa May who doesn’t look like she’s up for the job at all. She’s driving this hard Brexit policy she doesn’t really believe in, people are really worried about where it’s going."Then over here you’ve got Jeremy Corbyn pursuing a very different economic and social policy and actually not much interest in Brexit at all."Mr Campbell blasted the party for the decision to skirt Brexit, writing on Twitter: "“Are we seriously saying that a 'government in waiting' isn't debating Brexit at its Party Conference? If so, not serious.”

Critics say the Labour leader is making his party a “laughing stock” by stopping MPs and working-class supporters from having their say.Mr Corbyn is resisting pressure from europhiles in the party, who want him to commit Labour to keeping the UK permanently in the European single market and customs union after Brexit.Meanwhile, the opposition leader has been planning radical changes to the set up of the Labour party, as he attempts to secure his power base from the left wing.It comes at a time when the party is seen as being divided not only over the question of the party’s stance on Brexit but also the Blairite faction who support pro-market policies and the more leftist groups like Momentum.. 00FastNews.
