Caster strategy for Ancient Dragon in Dark Souls 2

One way for to solo the Dark Souls 2 Ancient Dragon as a caster, sorcerer, miracle thrower, whatever. \r

As the battle starts run in the direction of one of his feet but keep enough distance to cause him to the easily dodged forward flame at you. Target his neck and throw your most powerful spell at him. One or two and then back up, keeping yourself in about a 90 degree angle from whatever foot you are closest to. Youll see him pause as he prepares his next attack. As he swings around to throw the forward flame again, cross over his body to the opposite foot and throw a spell or two more. If youre lucky, hell do this every time and never fly up to roast you, but youll see what I did if he does. \r

I used Soul Geyser, Lightning Spear and Great Lightning Spear as my spells and Magic Staff of Wisdom +5 and Lightning Priests Chime +10 as my weapons.
