The "Sport" Of FootGolf Just Crowned A European Champion
  • 7 years ago
Ever heard of FootGolf? The bizarre sport is just starting to catch on — and it's coming soon to the U.S.

Started in the Netherlands in 2009, the sport recently held its first ever European Championships. It combines the precision kicking of soccer with the game of golf. Players drive their ball down the course, counting each kick, until notching the ball in a hole with a diameter of almost two feet. Just like golf, the player with the fewest kicks wins.

The sport has its own worldwide governing body, which includes 38 countries. The U.K. won the inaugural European Championships — and the U.S. National Championship is coming soon.
