Hippo protects carcass from hungry hyenas

A video has emerged from Tanzania of an adult hippopotamus attempting to protect a juvenile's carcass from clan of circling hyenas.
The footage, captured on August 10, shows the hyenas in water approaching the hippo, who is next to the dead juvenile to defend it from predators.
When the adult hippo leaves, the clan begin to feast on the dead juvenile.
After a while, the hippo returns to the carcass, forcing the hyenas to flee.
