A surprising matchmaker helped this Tajikistani man find a wife.
Emomali Rahmon, Tajikistan's president, was recently visiting a small city in his country when a young teacher stepped up to praise him. Flattered, Rahmon immediately inquired whether the man was married. When the teacher said he wasn't, Rahmon ordered the city to "find this man a wife!"
Within 10 days, the teacher was wed to a local nurse.
Rahmon is used to getting his way. His autocratic regime has frequently been called dictatorial, so when he asked for a wife to be found, it was done.
