Apple Watch Series 3 UK release - Two key things you need to know before buying one
With a 50 per cent year-on-year growth the Apple Watch is now the world's best selling watch, outperforming the likes of Rolex and Fossil.

And things could be about to get even better for this wearable tech with the launch of the all-new Apple Watch Series 3.

The US technology giant revealed its latest smartwatch during a major launch event at its new HQ in Cupertino on Tuesday.

And this upgraded device has one major advantage over its predecessors as is now includes cellular technology.

This means it works without your iPhone, allowing it to take calls, stream music and send messages completely independently.

This mobile technology will certainly be welcomed by those who don't always want to carry their phone with them but there are a couple of key things you should know before ordering this tech timepiece.

Apple has revealed that EE is currently the only UK network that is compatible with the Series 3 smartwatch.

This means, to get the most out of it, owners will need to switch to the network to access the celluar features.

It's currently unclear when, or if, other networks will begin working with the new Apple Watch although it's likely more will join in the coming months.

Even if you are with EE there's also something else you should be aware of as it will add to your monthly mobile bill.

Although it's not confirmed, it's thought EE will charge around £5 per month to allow customers to get data and take calls on the new Series 3 Watch.

Speaking about the launch, Marc Allera, CEO at EE said: “iPhone & Apple Series 3 Cellular allow our customers to make the most from the latest 4G technology we’re delivering across the UK.

"Whether it’s training in the gym or running a marathon, only on EE will Apple Series 3 Cellular give customers more freedom to remain connected so they can make calls, respond to messages and listen to their music while leaving their phone at home.”
