MOSCOW/TOKYO — Rail passengers on the Trans-Siberian Express may soon be able to travel from London, across Europe and Russia, and beyond to Japan under new plans from Moscow.

The plan involves the construction of a bridge or tunnel between Russia and Sakhalin, and from there, a bridge to the Japanese island of Hokkaido, reports the Siberian Times.

The bridge between Japan and Russia would reportedly be 28 miles in length across the Pacific Ocean.
