Who would've thought the Zika virus would go from global threat to cancer remedy? Apparently, injections of the virus into the brain shrunk aggressive tumors in adult mice with cancer. The researchers decided to test it out on human cells on their lab and zika attacked cells that were resistant to cancer treatments. "Once we add a few more changes, I think it's going to be impossible for the virus to overcome them and cause disease." "It looks like there's a silver lining to Zika." Dr. Diamond wants human trials to begin as soon as 18 months. So, expect some possibly groundbreaking results in 2018.
