Tweets questioning the practicality of wearing stilettos in a water-drenched region included, “A word to the wise Melania - you're gonna need new shoes,” and, “I like Melania and her expensive shoes are not my business but man I'd be wearing athletic shoes today.”
There were also some who found the first lady’s fancy footwear choice to be a bit tone deaf.
