Who knew that Divas got down on themselves?

Mariah Carey may appear like she's always walking on a red carpet, but apparently her inner confidence isn't always as glamorous as her apparel.

According to the New York Post's Page Six, the singer says "I just feel like a regular human being and I deserve the same respect as anybody else. I have always had low self esteem and people do not recognize that."

Mariah is certainly known for her more extravagant way of life, and high sets of demands.

But she tells Page Six, "growing up different, being biracial, having the whole thing where I did not know if I fit in... That is why music became such a big part of my life, because it helped me overcome those issues."

It might be hard to believe, but Mariah has struggled, been broke, slept on studio floors and it took time for the Butterfly to spread her wings.

She might have low self-esteem, but Mariah really carries herself well.
