Chris Brown is speaking out about his physical assault on Rihanna nearly a decade after it took place.

The singer reveals in a documentary that he felt "like a monster" after committing the attack, and gives candid details about what took place.

According to E! Online, in his documentary Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life, he says that their relationship took an ugly turn when he confessed to being unfaithful with someone he worked with.

He says, "I still love Rihanna, but I'm just going to be honest - we would fight eachother, she would hit me, I would hit her, but it never was OK."

Finally it boiled to the altercation in his car when Brown admits, "I remember her trying to kick me, just like her beating shit, but then I really hit her. With a closed fist, like I punched her and it busted her lip. And when I saw it I was in shock, I was like 'why did I hit her like that?'"

It escalated even further, and Brown hasn't ever quite lost his "monster" reputation since that terrible incident.
