'Truly Bad People': Trump Says 'Fake News Media Will Never Be Satisfied' Over Charlottesville Response

President Trump on Monday took another aim at the media in a tweet.

President Trump is hitting back at his critics, tweeting Monday, “Made additional remarks on Charlottesville and realize once again that the #Fake News Media will never be satisfied...truly bad people!”
While the president did not explain what prompted the response, journalists have continued to criticize him even after he issued a stronger condemnation of racism and white supremacists following the Saturday violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Marketplace’s Kai Ryssdal pointed out on Twitter that Trump had begun his follow-up statement about Charlottesville with news about the economy. The president did start off by mentioning the strong economy and efforts his administration was making for further growth.
Also, during a Monday afternoon event on intellectual property rights, he had a testy exchange with CNN’s Jim Acosta, with each accusing the other of spreading fake news.
Meanwhile, CNBC’s Jay Yarow tweeted that Trump was quicker to blast pharmaceutical manufacturer Merck’s CEO for stepping down from a presidential council over his Charlottesville response than he was in actually condemning the protests themselves.
