Alt-right leader Richard Spencer responds to Trump's statement

Just days after appearing in Charlottesville, alt-right leader Richard Spencer spoke to reporters. Spencer addressed both the protests on Saturday and President Trump's statement that he made earlier on Monday. "His statement today was more kumbaya nonsense. Only a dumb person would take those lines seriously." "Obviously the alt-right has come very far in the past two years in terms of public exposure. Is Donald Trump one of the major causes of that? Of course." Spencer went on to say while Trump isn't alt-right, he views him as "the first true authentic nationalist in my lifetime."
