Lightning Strike Ignites Wildfire Near Idaho Mountain Pass

A wildfire burning close to the Idaho border with Montana was ignited by lightning late on August 12, as seen in this timelapse video from the Idaho Transportation Department.The video shows a bright flash in the darkness and, over the course of more than 12 hours, a fire is seen to grow and then recede.Fire fighters were battling wildfires in several parts of Idaho on August 13, with “stage 2 fire restrictions” in place in some areas.
