Trump vowed to continue being "very, very tough on our southern border..."...and continue talks with China "where certain forms of man-made drugs come in" China is a major manufacturer of Carfentanil, the most powerful commercial opioid in the world... which has triggered a stream of fatal overdoses. But heightened border security wouldn't have stopped nearly 100 million Americans from getting their hands on the drug. One in three US adults are prescribed opioids, according to a 2015 study... a practice which leads to widespread misuse. Meanwhile, American companies Purdue Pharma, Johnson & Johnson, Insys Therapeutics, Mylan and Depomed made the top five opiod products that same year.
