Leaked Climate Change Report Published Prior To Approval From Trump Administration

The New York Times on Monday published an alarming federal climate change report.
A draft report on climate change and its effects compiled by 13 federal agencies presents significant challenges to President Trump’s apparent skeptical position on the issue.
The New York Times obtained a copy of the assessment and published it on Monday.
The Times notes the report, “concludes that Americans are feeling the effects of climate change right now. It directly contradicts claims by President Trump and members of his cabinet who say that the human contribution to climate change is uncertain, and that the ability to predict the effects is limited.”
An excerpt from the summary of the document leaked to the publication reads, “Thousands of studies conducted by tens of thousands of scientists around the world have documented changes in surface, atmospheric and oceanic temperatures; melting glaciers; disappearing snow cover; shrinking sea ice; rising sea level; and an increase in atmospheric water vapor...The last few years have also seen record-breaking, climate-related weather extremes, as well as the warmest years on record for the globe.”
The report further states, “Many lines of evidence demonstrate that human activities, especially emissions of greenhouse (heat-trapping) gases, are primarily responsible for recent observed climate change."
CBS News notes that before the report can be formally made public, it must be approved by the Trump administration.
