Michelle Carter sentenced for boyfriend's suicide

In June, Michelle Carter was convicted of involuntary manslaughter after convincing her boyfriend to kill himself. "You can't think about it. You just have to do it. You said you were gonna do it. Like I don't get why you aren't." Today, Carter was sentenced 1 to 2 years behind bars. According to Fox News, she only has to serve 15 months with five years of probation. The judge granted a defense motion until her appeals in the state courts are exhausted. The father of her deceased boyfriend, Conrad Roy III, spoke out: "I am heartbroken. Our family is heartbroken. Where is her humanity...in what world is this acceptable?"
