The site is one of many camps where refugees who have been denied entry to Australia are residing. The two witnesses told Storyful that around 1 am on Wednesday, the security guard had entered the room of the Bangladeshi man and assaulted him, as can be seen in this video. Other residents of the lodge said that the guard had been holding a bottle of vodka prior to entering the room of the victim and continued to be disruptive after being removed from the building.Police eventually arrived and arrested the guard, before escorting the Bangladeshi refugee to the hospital where he was treated for facial injuries. Storyful reached out to Nauru Government, which refused to comment on whether the guard had been charged. Activists and witnesses said the victim had returned to the camp.Refugees on the small Micronesian island remain uncertain about their fate and whether they will resettled in the US.
