Terrorism ruled out after shooting in German nightclub leaves 2 dead including gunman

German police have ruled out terrorism after an Iraqi gunman killed one person and injuring three others in a nightclub in the southern city of Konstanz.
The 34-year-old, who opened fire in the early hours of Sunday morning died in hospital from his injuries after a gunfight with police outside the venue.
A police officer also was wounded.
Witnesses say the attacker had a machine gun and shot at the crowd indiscriminately.
Police said the gunman had lived in Germany for several years and was not an asylum seeker.
They added that the motives of the man who acted alone still are unclear, but there may have been a dispute among criminals that led to the shooting at ‘the Grey club’ in an industrial part of the city, on Max-Stromeyer-Strasse.
Police special forces were deployed in the city after the shooting around 0230 GMT as it was not clear at the time if the suspect had acted alone or had accomplices.
Sunday’s shooting comes just two days after a knife attack in the northern German port city of Hamburg.
A failed Palestinian asylum seeker killed one person and injured six others at a supermarket on Friday.
Officials said the 26-year-old suspect suffered psychological problems and was “known as an Islamist but not a jihadist”.
