The British website The Conversation featured an article on the impacts of Adnan Oktar’s works on Darwinism

ADNAN OKTAR: The British-based internet site named The Conversation, where articles written in English and French by many academics and researchers are published, featured an article in French about me. Do you have that article?

BÜLENT SEZGİN: Yes, we can show it.

ADNAN OKTAR: Do so, please. What does the article say?

KARTAL GÖKTAN: Title: Evolution and Creationism in Turkey. The article writes extensively about your activities. "Following the US, the notion of creationism, which has developed into intelligent design, was introduced to Turkey in the 80s via textbooks. Although, with the coup staged against Erbakan in 1997, the secularist view was sought to be established as the dominant ideology in many areas including the National Education, the expansion of creationism could not be hampered. The Muslim scholar Adnan Oktar, who was born in Ankara in 1956, played a particular role in this expansion. Oktar launched a movement that is remarkable both for the theory and for himself. In the following years, Adnan Oktar successfully surrounded himself by young socialites and continued to spread creationism through his numerously illustrated colossal book, The Atlas of Creation. His books sell by the thousands and are translated into more than 60 languages. In 2010, he was ranked among the most influential 500 Muslim figures by the Jordan-based Royal Islamic Strategic Research Center. Oktar's nationalist emphasis on his rhetoric explains the anti-Darwinism in Turkey. In one of his writing, Darwin notoriously insulted the Turkish race. With high-ranking priests beginning to consider the theory of evolution to be the most scientifically plausible doctrine in the recent years, the Catholic Church reconciled with the evolutionary belief. However, although the theory of evolution has gained recognition as it is, creationism also makes its presence felt on both sides of the Atlantic. Turkey is inherently more receptive of creationism. One of its reasons is that the religion of Islam is based upon creation. Harun Yahya uses Islam's creation-based view of the universe to gain himself more supporters. By remolding American-style creationism with his own views, he spreads his views beyond Turkey.

ADNAN OKTAR: The world is utterly silent on Darwinism. There is a absolute silence. Judging from the impact I have made, one might say I have dropped an atomic bomb. The entire world is reticent. They used to make a new discovery every day such as transitional links. They used to talk about it very often. What happened? Suddenly, they have become unable to discover anything. We would see the news of a recent discovery of another link in Hürriyet [national daily newspaper of Turkey]. Note that evolution has ceased to be the topic of conversation anywhere in the world. They only cry about it.

OKTAR BABUNA: The journal says, that you shape both sides of the Atlantic.

ADNAN OKTAR: "Mr. Oktar scores," it says. "There is no escaping this," it says. "Despite the desperate efforts of the Catholic priests, Adnan Oktar dealt a powerful Ottoman blow and sent them tumbling," it says. This is what the journal politely implies.

GÖKALP BARLAN: Mr. Oktar, you stated that "I will give 10 trillion dollars to those who brings a transitional link." They could not produce even a single one. "I will even accept drawings," you said. They could not produce that either.

ADNAN OKTAR: Indeed.
