Trump's politicized speech at National Scout Jamboree sparks harsh response from former Scouts

President Trump broke 80 years of tradition with his political speech during the 2017 National Scout Jamboree. At first, Trump pledged not to talk about politics to the 40,000 beaver-boyscouts but soon began to rally towards his own agenda. Trump's remarks sparked major controversy, prompting Boy Scouts of America to respond: "The Boy Scouts of America is a wholly non-partisan and does not promote any one position, product, service, political candidate or philosophy. The invitation to visit the National Jamboree is a long-standing tradition and is in no way an endorsement of any political party or specific policies." However, many former boy scouts and parents of current ones remained angry with the situation.
