The Legendary Mogul Russell Simmons and rising star Donte Clark stop by to discuss the new film, Romeo Is Bleeding, with Sway in The Morning. The film touches base on the conflicts and friction between North and Central Richmond, California. Clark explains that writing poetry had “saved his life,” because he was conflicted growing up in his city.

Throughout the interview there is a great balance of diction between Clark and Simmons. Simmons and Clark both have a huge love and passion for art and expression. “Poetry and art have you look inside,” said Simmons. Simmons drops a lot of gems throughout the interview about self-expression through art. “Without art, schools are like prisons,” said Simmons.

The film will be a limited release during the beginning, however, Simmons states he will spread the film everywhere. “Everyone will see this movie,” said Simmons. The film is opening in theater in New York at the IFC, on July 19th.
