This Mountain Bike Race Was in A Russian Shopping Mall

by Anthony FalcoExtreme athletes in Russia are re-imagining the possibilities of popular everyday indoor spaces.Exhibit A: This mountain biking race just took place inside a Russian shopping mall. 37 bikers from across Russia competed across four full floors of the mall, covering over 750 yards of track.The competition, called ‘DownMall,’ is in its fourth year. This year the race was held in Vladivostok, located near Russia’s far-eastern border. The event will be held in a different city next year.The organizers say they spent about four months arranging the event to minimize possible risks.
