London just debuted the world’s first “smart street” [Mic Archives]

This street just got an upgrade. It’s now made out of 107 square feet of tiles, each producing up to five watts of electricity. The tiles are created by clean energy company, Pavegen, and could be used to power streetlights, bluetooth transmitters and speakers.
