MAN JUMPS TO DEATH FROM BRIDGE NEAR MADURAI RAILWAY STATION

MADURAI: The public in Madurai were in for a shock when a youth, believed to be about 30 years old, jumped to death from atop the bridge at Ellis Nagar right in front of their eyes on Thursday afternoon. Police suspect him to be from North India, but it is yet to be confirmed.
Police sources said that it was around 2.30 pm that the deceased man climbed-up over the bridge in the area. After receiving the alert, police personnel rushed to spot, even as public began gathering near the bridge. All of them tried to pacify and bring him down, but he did not respond.
