Plus-sized model snoops text, accuses seatmate of ‘fat-shaming’

LOS ANGELES — This week in social media, a plus-sized model recorded the moment she “bravely” confronted a man she claims was fat-shaming her.

But while the rest of the internet is gloriously celebrating her accomplishment, we here at TomoNews think someone’s being unnecessarily butthurt.

According to a rant on her Instagram page, Natalie Hage was flying to Los Angeles on American Airlines and got seated next to a man she said began loudly huffing, sighing, and readjusting himself the minute she plopped down.

When he began “furiously texting”, she decided privacy-be-damned and started snooping in on the convo, even after he turned the phone away from her.

In his texts, he tells someone named Linda that he thinks Hage ate Mexican food, and that he’s leaving a neck mark on the window from being so smashed up against it.

Hage continued to read the texts, and got so pissed she decided to confront him at the end of the flight, accusing him of being a body shamer.

Publicly and maliciously embarrassing someone because of how they look is one thing, but the guy never actually said anything to Hage directly. The texts were mean, but they were also in the context of a private conversation she had no business looking at.

In a video of the confrontation, the man first denies the texts, then apologizes when she reveals she’s got photographic proof.

After Hage rails into him for making her feel uncomfortable, she then proceeds to put everything up online, ironically lamenting at being ‘fucked with’ even when you’re in your own space.

Bottom line, neither of these individuals are shining paragons of morality, but at least one had the decency to not blast it all over the internet.
