Trump Brings Up ‘War On Christmas’ At A July Event

During a recent address, President Trump brought up the "war on Christmas."

President Trump spoke at the ‘Celebrate Freedom’ event held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on Saturday, and, during his address, brought up the "war on Christmas," reports the Huffington Post.
Some believe that certain groups have, over the years, been working to diminish the religious importance of the day by suppressing the use of the phrase “Merry Christmas.”
At the 4th of July affair, Trump, as he did during his campaign, pledged to bring the greeting back to the forefront, announcing, “I remind you that we’re going to start saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again."
The crowd responded with resounding applause, but a number of Twitter users were left a bit confused by the early reference to the holiday.
One posted a picture of a deeply discounted Ivanka Trump sweater and wrote, “Are @IvankaTrump & @realDonaldTrump having a Christmas in July sale?” a reference to retailers’ mid-year discount extravaganzas.
Another quipped, “Wishing you all a #merrychristmas this July 4th weekend.”
Someone else claimed to speak for Santa, noting, "When reached for comment, Santa Claus said 'Oh, shut up, Donald. You've been on my naught(y) list for seven decades... plus, I'm on vacation.'"
A reporter for the Dallas Morning News used the platform to offer assurances, writing, “I'm about to cover my 25th Christmas and I promise you, there's no war on Christmas.”
