Steve Kangas (1997) "A Timeline of CIA Atrocities" (Annotated)

An annotated and illustrated version of the 1997 Steve Kangas article "A Timeline of CIA Atrocities" - which was based on William Blum's (1995) book "Killing Hope."

Since 'those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it,' this summary is offered as a timely reminder of past patterns in CIA practice. Some updates on the issues Kangas raised are included.

This book tracks the CIA's part in the US 'War on Communism' - which lasted from WWII to the fall of the Soviet Union (in 1990-91) and beyond.

The fact that this behavior segued into the US 'War on Terror' (announced after the September 11, 2001 destruction of the Twin Towers) is not mentioned, as that development came after the date of the Kangas article. So there will be a sequel.
