Celebrity stylist, international media personality, philanthropist and Creative Director and founder for LAPALME Magazine Derek Warburton, hosted a workshop at Bottomless Closet in NYC on June 19th to meet and style a group of inspirational women who are overcoming the most extreme hardships in their lives.
Bottomless Closet works to reduce the barriers many women face in the search for employment as well as provide on-going support and education so women gain the tools to succeed in their professional lives. The interactive workshop included a self-esteem building, a discussion of dressing for your body type, plus tips for makeovers. Each participant picked an item of clothing stylized by Derek and his assistants from the Bottomless Closet boutique as part of the makeover.
The FIT alum, who was once homeless with his poverty stricken mother, has been working with the organization since 2009. Even though he continues to grow his brand in the fashion world and has worked with biggest names including Shay Mitchell, Olivia Culpa, Josh Henderson, Derek Hough, Beyonce Knowles, Molly Simms, Mario Lopez, Miranda Kerr, Jessica Alba, Audrina Partridge, Matt McGory, Carmen Electra, Sean Paul and more, he never forgets where he has come from and continues to give back and make a difference.
