May sets out 'generous offer' for EU citizens living in UK

The British Prime Minister is addressing parliament to explain her plans for EU nationals living in the UK.

Brexit Secretary David Davis has tried to reasssure the 3.2 million EU nationals in the UK that they would “effectively” have the same rights as British citizens.

He insisted he did not expect any EU nationals to be deported unless they had committed a crime or security issues were involved.

It comes after EU leaders reacted dismissively to outlines of the proposals last week.
